The Calgary District Lacrosse Association (CDLA) supports a Safe Sport environment where every participant—regardless of age, background, or level—can train, compete, and thrive free from abuse, discrimination, and harm.
The Alberta Lacrosse Association (ALA) is now part of the Alberta Safe Sport Complaint Mechanism (ABSSCM). This program is supported by the Government of Alberta through the Alberta Sport Leadership Association (ASLA) and creates a distinct Alberta Universal Code of Conduct (AB UCC), enforced through the Reporting and Independent Resolution Policy (RIRP).
Under the RIRP, all complaints related to maltreatment (as defined in the AB UCC) must be reported to the independent third party appointed under the RIRP. As part of ABSSCM, that independent third party is ALIAS.
If you need to report a maltreatment concern, please use the official ALA Safe Sport reporting mechanism:
Report here: [ALA Safe Sport Reporting Site]
Follow the contact/reporting instructions on that page to submit a report to the independent third party (ALIAS).
Important: This reporting mechanism is intended for serious breaches of the AB UCC that constitute maltreatment—not everyday disputes.
If there is an immediate risk of harm, call 911 right away.
Participants must also comply with any other legally required reporting mechanisms related to the safety of at-risk participants.
Reports are managed through the independent process under the RIRP. The ALA (and CDLA, where applicable) is engaged only as required by policy—for example, to confirm jurisdiction or to implement an outcome.
Other notification steps will be handled by ALIAS as required under the RIRP.

Safe Sport is not just a policy—it’s a promise.
A promise that everyone in lacrosse deserves an environment that is safe, respectful, and accountable. Your voice matters. Your actions matter.
Be informed. Be involved. Speak up. Support others. Demand accountability.
Together, we can build a culture where safety is the standard—not the exception.
