Coach Certification
Please review and read carefully to ensure you meet all qualification to be on the bench. Non compliant coaches will be removed on 15 May 2025.
COACH CERTIFICATION - GENERAL INFORMATION
- must be 16 years old
- all coaches on a bench must meet the coach requirements (Head Coaches and Assistant Coaches)
- Coaches can take one course per season
- First year coaches must start with Community Development
U7-U13 Coach Requirements
- Community Development
- Respect in Sport Activity Leader (valid for 4 years)
- Current VSS Police Clearance (valid for 3 years)
If you attended a course in 2019 to now, you will show IN TRAINING on your NCCP locker - don't worry you are eligible to coach.
This is a known issue with Lacrosse Canada and the NCCP locker.
U15-U17 Coach Requirements
- Competitive Introduction
- Making Ethical Decisions
- Making Headway
- Respect in Sport Activity Leader (valid for 4 years)
- Current VSS Police Clearance (valid for 3 years)
2025 COACHING CERTIFICATION COURSES OFFERED BY CALGARY DISTRICT LACROSSE ASSOCIATION
- April is typically the first month of running
- There are seating limitations for all clinics.
- Plan ahead and be sure to complete the necessary steps well in advance of the clinic to secure your spot.
- Arrive at clinic early to check in.
- Coaches will be charged $50 if you are a NO SHOW to a registered clinic.
- Watch your email the Monday prior to your clinic for full course information

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
- required for first year coaches
- and/or U7-U13 coaches
- there are 2 types of courses - a Hybrid of on-line/in-person and In-Person ONLY
1. HYBRID COURSE - TWO PARTS (PART 1: ON-LINE AND PART 2: IN-PERSON)
Both PART:1 and PART:2 must be completed for certification
PART 1: ON-LINE
- REGISTER on COACH.CA
- Both online and floor must be completed for certification.
- Must have camera connected

RESPECT IN SPORT: ACTIVITY LEADER (COACHING CERTIFICATION - NCCP PROGRAMS)
Respect in Sport (RIS): Activity Leaders (valid for 4 years) course requirement for all coaches - CLICK HERE
RIS Activity leader may need to be linked to your NCCP number.
How to link them:
- Go to The Locker: [here] If you don't already have an NCCP number and Locker account, go to The Locker and create one.
- Select Safe Sport Training: Once logged in, select "Safe Sport Training".
- Add NCCP# to your Activity Leaders profile: If your certificate does not appear on your Locker account, you may need to add your NCCP number to your Activity Leaders profile.
- Allow Communication to the NCCP: Scroll down to the bottom of your profile and allow communication to the NCCP.
